Four years of learning Buschcraft and Survival in front of the camera
Hi! I'm Emelie, a swedish woman trying to learn the art of bushcraft and survival - to go from theory to practice isn't always easy, sometimes it works out and other times it doesn't... how could a biology / geography teacher end up in a situation like this?
Join me on my journey as I learn what actually works... and what doesn't! Remember: failure is just part of the learning process.
This video is my history. Four years of learning Buschcraft and Survival in front of the camera.
Thank you all for all your love and support during these years :)

Different Outdoor Stoves

In this video Kevin at Arctic Wolf shows me some different types of outdoor stoves. What to think about when chosing a stove for your hike, and how loud can a gas burner get? We're looking at the Kelly Kettle 1.6l Base Camp, a Bio Oven wood Gassifier, the BSR3000 28g Titanium Gas Burner, a TOAKS Titanium Alcohol Burner, the BSR Multifuel Burner, and last but not least a classic in a new version...

Testing my homemade amadou with flint and my carbon steel knife
Переглядів 24 тис.6 років тому
In this video I try out my new knife, the Mora Garberg Black Carbon... I'm not checking the sharpness of the edge, but rather striking the carbon steel back with flint. Will I get my homemade Amadou tinder to take a spark from the knife? I started way earlier by cutting thin pieces of Amadou from the Tinder Fungus (Fnöskticka in Swedish)... then I processed the thin pieces by boiling them in wa...

Well looks like I'm a little late to the party on this one. I am in the process of making what used to be called Indian glue. It's where you purify pine sap add charcoal and a binding agent to the whole gooey gabby mess and then you can heat it and use it as glue and it says strong as glue. It's just what I'm in the middle of trying for the first time thought maybe pass the idea on to you. Anyways loved your video

Use a heat sink to moderate the heat under the 'kokform'. Meaning, a handful of pebbles or sand inside the billy, beneath the grill.

You don't need to orient the map to the north to go between point A to point B. Orienting the map towards north is done when comparing the map with reality.

Very interesting video and you are adorable! So I was researching amadou to be used as leather for hat making, but this is to make tinder. A very lengthy process for tinder when so much other bio mass is available. It must really ignite. Can’t wait to see part 2. Is it like magnesium shavings, quick hot flame?

VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND, DISCERN WHAT WORDS YOU SRE SAYING with your gravely diction. When you talk quietly all i can hear is the grating in your voice, no consonants, just gravel, gravel, gravel. IT IS VERY UNPLEASANT, AND HARD TO HEAR THE WORDS. To me it sounds like a variety of VOCAL FRY, look it up. All we hear is the vocal cords slapping together, no vowels or consonants. Very hard work to figure out what you are saying.

If you scrape the fat wood with the spine of the knife you will get a pile of fluff the size of a silver dollar and that will catch fire East then you can use your feather stick to increase your fire, your feather sticks and a little bit thick they work better when they are very fine. Good work and practice makes perfect. 😃

Tying those 5 small logs together with wood shavings in the center of it ; with small pieces of wood on top was a simple, and smart way to start a fire. Cool beans.
